investment scams in the United States amounted to $3.94 billion in losses in 2023, representing a 53% increase from $2.57 billion in 2022. According to the FBI's “2023 Internet Crime Report,” the total amount lost to investment scams rose by 38% from $3.31 billion to $4.57 billion.
