The German police released a statement stating that they have temporarily seized 50,000 bitcoins, worth approximately $2.17 billion, in a crackdown on piracy enforcement actions. This is reported to be the largest cryptocurrency seizure operation in the history of the relevant law enforcement agencies. Additionally, one of the two suspects in the case has voluntarily transferred the bitcoins to the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) in Germany. However, formal charges have not yet been filed against the relevant suspects, and the subsequent investigation into potential money laundering activities is still ongoing.
